The Art of Courage

Coast Mental Health posted an article about The Art of Courage which includes a painting I created for their 20th Anniversary of the Courage to Come Back Awards. In a way, it's giving back again which is the theme of the Courage awards.

Life since my award in 2012 has changed significantly. I am now a practising artist and am coming out with my third book in 2018, written jointly with James D. Young, a New York author. It's called From New York to Vancouver: Stories on the Fly including 2 novellas and a short story.

New Voices

Come join us! I'll be reading from My Schizophrenic Life and Chop Shtick. I'll have signed copies of Chop Shtick for $20.

Me Too Conversations Vol. 6

When Michael Landsberg, sports broadcaster and talk show host, spoke publicly about his personal experience with depression, it helped to destigmatize mental illness. On Thursday, Feb 23rd, he along with Kimberly Rutledge, a UBC student and advocate, will talk about mental illness and the ramifications.

I will be signing copies of Chop Shtick at this event. $20 cash only. I spoke at the Me Too Conversations Vol. 2 and attended another one in the series. This is the final event of a six-part series. The talks are informative, moving and inspiring.
